Care Guide
Machine Linen Washing
Â
1. Sort linens into white, dark, and colored groups. For optimal results, wash these separately from other fabrics. Avoid mixing them with heavy items like towels and denim to prevent any damage.
2. Prepare the linens by turning them inside out. Fasten all buttons and zip up any zippers.
3. Ensure the laundry has sufficient space to rinse properly.
4. Opt for low temperatures and lukewarm water (below 40°C/104°F).
5. Select the gentle machine cycle.
6. Use a mild detergent designed for delicate fabrics.
7. Avoid using bleach. Both bleach and detergents with optical brighteners can weaken fibers and cause discoloration.
8. Fabric softener is unnecessary because linen naturally softens with each wash. Stonewashed linen is already very soft, so using softener can weaken the fibers and reduce their absorbency and moisture-wicking capabilities.
Hand Linen Washing
1. Fill a small basin with lukewarm water and add about a teaspoon of mild detergent. Submerge the linen item in the water and let it soak for approximately 10 minutes.
2. Gently swish the linen back and forth. Avoid twisting or scrubbing, as this can harm the fabric. Drain the soapy water and rinse the item repeatedly until all the soap is removed.
3. Do not wring linen items to remove excess water, nor twist or scrub the fabric, as this can damage the garment. Instead, carefully roll each piece in a towel to absorb moisture.
4. Hang your linen garment on a padded hanger to dry, which helps prevent wrinkles and might eliminate the need for ironing.
All our linens are yarn dyed so don’t be concerned about dye transfer.
How to refresh Lanhtropy's Metallic Linen
How Should I Wash It?
- Hand wash with cold water.
- Avoid vigorous scrubbing. Instead, gently agitate it in the water.
- Do not machine wash or dry clean.
- After washing, hang to dry or lay flat in the shade. Avoid tumble drying.
- If ironing is required, always ensure the print is shielded. Use a warm setting and interpose a cotton cloth between the garment and the iron.
- Do not iron directly on the metallic print.
Freshening Up Your Metallic Garment
Should you wish to freshen up the garment, it's safe to gently rinse it with cold water. For this:
- Turn the garment inside out.
- Briefly run it under cold water to wash off sweat or minor residues.
- Refrain from using soap and always handle gently.
- Once rinsed, lay it flat to dry, ensuring the metallic print doesn't come in direct touch with the hanger.
Key Notes for Care
To maintain the vibrancy and integrity of metallic prints:
- Always heed the provided care instructions closely. This ensures both the print's integrity and the intentional washed look are sustained.
- Directly ironing the metallic print is discouraged. When ironing, prevent the iron from coming in direct contact with the print. Turning the garment inside out and inserting a thin cotton cloth between the iron and the print safeguards it.
Thank you for ensuring the longevity and vibrancy of your metallic garments by adhering to these guidelines
